Lake of the Torches - oversize chips - Qn...

I recently bought these Lake of the Torches chips (Indian casino in Wisconsin). They are oversize (44mm) with Paulson inverted H&C mold.

Any idea why they would choose oversize chips for play on their blackjack tables? It's something different, but with extra cost of the chips and the need for oversize racks on the tables, this seems unusual.

Also, the $5 chip has medal-aligned inlays (obverse vs. reverse) and each inlay is nicely aligned with the placement of inserts. I don't have any others for comparison, so don't know if this is just a lucky coincidence of alignment or if Paulson is using a new alignment step as part of the manufacturing process. (If you remember, there was another chip -- a riverboat that Greg posted? -- with similar alignment properties that we mused about on the BB a while ago.) FYI, the 50c hotstamped chip is not aligned.

Anyway, I love those oversize chips & plaques!
