John unfortunately I can't seem to find Archie's post..Regardless
The current issue of the magazine using chromecoat stock is probably the best thing that I have seen in the short time I have been a club member. [Mag.]
I don't know how much more it costs but it gives a professional look to our publication. The photos as well as the ads are now legible where before it appeared that the magazine was run off on a cheap copier.
In regards to keeping the issue at under 100 pages. Aren't we sort of contradicting ourselves. First we solicit the membership for more articles. keeping in mind our club is supposed to be educational. Then when the members rise to fulfill this request and the magazine gets bigger you say we should cut it down.
I'm hoping as the readership increases along with the membership, an increase in advertising rates will offset the cost. After all advertising rates are predicated on readership
Does anyone know what the additional cost is of printing the magazine on better quality stock? Does anyone know how long the ad rates have remained the same.?
I'm also curious, is there a conflict of interest if we were to solicit casinos for advertising. After all aren't we their best customers?
