I always thought that the table max was how much you could bet not how much the payout was. Normally if there is a limit on the payout it is stated on another card at the table. Otherwise how could they pay out that $100,00 win on the Caribean Stud Royal? I know that I have seen this before, especially at Let it Ride tables where they state that the maximum payout for any round is $25,000. In that case you can bet too much and not get the full payout.
