Although I don't know the answer to your question, I started to do some research and came up with an interesting timeline of the Aladdin.

I remember some of it because I was working with Bell Atlantic on the Tricon project (Bell Atlantic Tricontinental Leasing) when they suddenly "owned" the Aladdin after a foreclosure. But the rest of the history is pretty amazing as well.
