At this point I will have to join Jim Reilly in declining the nomination as a slabfree chapter officer. I think everyone already knows my feelings on the slab issue. I DO NOT want them allowed at the convention. I DO NOT want them allowed in the magazine. I DO NOT want them allowed in the club auction.
Anyone one wanting to be associated with them is perfectly free to do so, BUT let them start their own organization and leave our chip COLLECTING club alone.
I think everyone of us is already trying to "educate" anyone who is willing to listen to us on the subject and will continue to do so. BUT that is just not enough, we need to get RID of the slabbers altogether. That is the only way our club is going to be rid of this impending plague.
Some continually say "Leave them alone and they will go away". And to that I say "NUTS". They are not goig to go away unless we drive them away.
The more we "leave them alone" the bigger foot hold they are getting into our HOBBY, that they are hell bent on turning into an industry to line their pockets with.
Now I will break up my wooden soap box to start a fire with, so I can burn some slabs.
