This is the first site (or seller) I've seen use the C&W 100-point grading scale.
I'm confused on one point though. I thought the explanation was that after determining the proper number, as avg. of both sides, then you just convert it to a DESCRIPTIVE TERM representing a RANGE of numbers, i.e. VF (Very Fine) is anywhere from 60-69; XF (Extremely Fine) is 70-79, etc.
However the Casino Rarities site uses the 100-point scale as a raw number, meaning that discrete grading of even 1 number is possible. Now we're back to the possibility of 11 Uncirculated grades (actually, C&W calls their top category CS or "Chip State"). Most of the grades shown are in 5-point increments, though a few have odd numbered results, such as 82 or 96 or 97.
Chips currently on the site, from LV and No. Nevada, are graded: 65, 95, 90, 90, 97, 70, 90, 95d [drilled], 80, 97, 85, 96, 82, 95, 95, 80, 90, 80, 90, 80, 65, 85, 80.
They DO have some great looking high-end chips, but I'm still not ready to grade this precisely. Condition is a factor, but not to this extent, IMO.
