In short, many collectors are treating this change in rim color as a variety. This was caused by a temporary change in the components used for the rims which resulted in the color change. That change is now over and there has been a return to the previous formula, so the supply is fixed and there probably will be no more of the copper color produced. Most casinos are now out of the copper rim variety.
