Let me state a few facts:
The new club magazine is GREAT.
Nate, I agree 100%
Every issue that John and Allan have published are outstanding publications.
Nate, I agree 100%
Publishing a magazine of this quality takes a tremendous effort.
Volunteers willing to donate their valuable time to the club are hard to find.
Again I agree 100%.
John Yee and C.T. Rodgers, our advertising manager, have been confronted, criticized and threatened because the logo appeared on an ad.
Nate, Please point out to me where on this BB ANYONE has been threatened???
The logo appears in two other ads in the current magazine.
It is very easy to post on a BB or send an email to criticize those who volunteer.
Notices in the past two magazines asking for more volunteers have produced few.
Nate, most could care less about the logo. I'm more concerned about HOW the logo in the ad for ICG creates the impression the CLUB endorses ICG.
Those who continue to criticize in a confrontational manner and not offer to help in a constructive way, are as much a threat to this club as
slabbing.
I agree Nate but where is this CONFRONTATIONAL manner. I read posts from people who are upset but lets be honest Nate many club memebers 285 to be exact "feel" sold out.
Those are facts.
The guidelines for the use of our logo need to be reviewed. I have already pledged that the incoming Board will discuss these guidelines at our
initial Board meeting. As a growing organization, it was not possible to anticipate all the possibilities when the guidelines were established. They
will be updated.
Many club members use the logo on advertising. It appears on many member's web sites and on Ebay. Some of these web sites are businesses,
not personal web sites. No one has ever accused the club of endorsing any of these members, their businesses or their products.
Nate, you are mixing apples with oranges. ALL club members get the club magazine. A select few, as you and the rest of the board have previously stated, ARE NOT online. The impression of club endorsement is given to ALL club members.
It is difficult to retain volunteers and to recruit new members to help when so much criticism and anger is directed at them. I understand the
emotion surrounding the slabbing issue but I can not understand how anyone can be critical of those who volunteer for our great organization.
Nate, Why are questions by various club memebers always viewed as being critical of volunteers? If the questions were just answered, it seems to mean it would defuse the situation.
I ask those who are pleased with the magazine to contact John, Allan and CT or post on the BB and let them know how much we all appreciate
their efforts.
Nate
Nate, I appreciate the work done by those who volunteer. I appreciate their efforts. The magazine is REALLY well done.
Now what does that have to do with the issues on the table???????
