Gene; If we count our anti-slabbing table ... plus the four tables that slabbers will occupy... that means there are at least FIVE tables on the sold-out convention bourse floor that are not engaged in buying and selling chips and tokens and other casino collectibles. If slabbing items were prohibited, there would have been five more tables sold to promote what the majority of club members collect. I don't know too many club members who collect slabs... so we seem to be ignoring the majority. As Peter has posted in another thread that the slabbing companies (ICG and PCGS) are only offering a service... not a product... so they are selling nothing.
I surely hope that the new Board of Officers will re-examine the current Board's policy with respect to allowing slabs to be sold on the bourse floor. Since the dealer's contracts prohibit the sales of coins ... I see no difference in prohibiting slabs.
