I'm not aware of ANY chip that has been called in for redemption by any Atlantic City casino.... or after such an such a date would not be honored for redemption.
In fact it is also my understanding that there is a fund set aside by the CCC for closed casinos for redemption of chips after the casino has closed (I hope Archie can confirm this - I could not find it in the CCC charter).
So if you have any old $1 Playboys, they are still worth $1 to the CCC. I might be tempted to offer $1.50 to save you the time and trouble... I'm that nice a guy...
Then no chip in AC would ever be obsolete because it is always redeemable. So I disagree with the definition. Maybe its time to use "retired" or "made redundant" (my favorite English saying).
