How much more expensive are the LE's to produce than regular chips? If they cover the costs of the production and the rest is pure profit, why not go ahead and make more? I'm sure I'm probably missing something, but it would seem like the cost of producing the chip after the initial design/layout would remain somewhat the same.

If they don't sell, they could just throw the leftovers on the tables like the Tropicana does. Frankly, picking an LE off the table is my favorite way to acquire them.
