Hi Walter,
I have an Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. that has been sitting in the boxed set now for a number of years. It's perfectly centered, excellent logo, sharp edges (all of which I can see without anyones help). I want to sell this card for the highest amount of money I can get. After seeing the wide gap of bidding between slabbed and unslabbed cards on eBay I have decided to have it slabbed. At the local card shop the owner told me it would be an 8 or nine. He said if it does not slab out at an 8 send it back again and most likely I'll get my 9. This will make the difference of hundreds of dollars for less than a $20 payment to PSI, not bad! So, how is this good for collectors? Because they have to pay unrealistic prices for garbage that has little value now that some third party has placed some kind of grade on it? I see no need for this in chip collecting, and will never support such a concept. By the way, want to buy my card? If so, let me slab it first...
