To answer your question: Yes, it does matter.
If we as collectors want the entire market place to correctly determine the value of an item then all artifical manipulators should me eliminated.

The concept of investment hobby does not necessarily imply higher or lower values. What it does is eliminates or makes less important what I believe to be the important elements of the collectable. It then treats the collectable as a commodity like a pork belly with elements such as its history becoming much less important. Best, Jim
