Right now on eBay there are at least a 100 auctions of non-casino chips that are not accurately described.
One seller uses the phrase "This is a commemorative $1000 LANDMARK CASINO CHIP that was made in limited quantities and for a limited time. This chip was produced to celebrate one of the big name casinos in Las Vegas's history." The phrase is accurate, but does not mention the fact that the chip was never used in a casino and was produced by a chip manufacturer without any connection to the casino as a "fantasy" chip.
I think the chip collecting community would be much better off without these chips being sold like this.
