Lately it seems that eBay has been deluged with non-casino chips, that is chips that were never meant to be used in a casino. I have nothing against non-casino chips, I just feel that the sellers should describe these chips for exactly what they are. There are sellers who sell non-casino chips on eBay and in other places who are not 100% honest. They sell chips without fulling disclosing relavent information out the chips. Consider these examples:
o Chips that were never meant to be used in a casino, like manufacturers samples or home use chips
o Borland fakes and other "commemoratives"
o Genuine casino chips, but where information about a recent discovery of a quantity of chips is withheld
In some cases the sellers use carefully worded phrases to suggest that these chips are genuine casino chips or rare chips or whatever, when they know that they are not. Sometimes these chips will even fool an experienced collector.
My question is: Should it just be "buyer beware" or is there something that the chip collecting community can do about these sellers?
