From some reports I've read of some other chapter activity around the country, most chapters would be happy with a turnout of 50 each meeting. I think that 40-50 is probably above average. It's all the rumored in-fighting that I don't understand. As for the auctions, they can only be as successful as the membership wants them to be. Have you brought better material to be auctioned off? Just asking a question Pete. No offense intended. As for the chapter putting together a chip show.... it takes volunteers to accomplish that. Plus, it seems to me that there are several chip shows already being held in Las Vegas to satisfy the locals. Too many shows sometimes results in a good thing being overdone. Just my opinion.
BTW: Tom Plau tried running a couple of shows here in the Atlantic City area in near-by Ocean City a few years ago and were not very successful after the first one. Reason? Lack of support in attendance from the local base. Good crowd at the swap session the night before, but poor attendance on the day of the show. Dealers didn't do that well and did not book table space at future shows.
