What you say is true, Ron. It all depends on how saturated a population is. Here in New Jersey, the most densely populated state in the country, constant busy signals in order to get on is the norm after 3 pm when the school kids get home, until about 9 pm when the little tykes go to bed. The constant drop-offs in the middle of composing a lenthly post to bulletin boards is very frustrating... not to mention the constant reminder interuptions on the monitor.
When figuring the cable rates for a super fast cable modem and the fact that one saves the monthly rate AOL charges and you can disconnect your local telephone service for the extra line for your computer... cable is very reasonable for what one gets if it's available in your area. Instant on; no dialing access numbers; Fast; dependability; no hassles.
Now if I can only get my scanner back in operation.........
