Hi Ron…
I’m in SoCal and I am a charter member of AOL Anonymous. The service was horrendous – and that’s being nice. It was impossible to get a connection during evening hours, the connections that I did get were very slow, and I was also constantly getting “bombed off”. After years of paying way too much for way too little, I decided to go with another of the big guys… since I live in one of those enviable areas around Los Angeles where there is no cable internet OR DSL service available.
I switched to MSN a couple of years ago and have not had a single problem. The connections a very fast (considering I’m dialing through a phone line, that is), you have access to ALL internet content, and I also use AOL Instant Messenger, which anyone can download. The spam has been cut way down, too.
And besides, AOL still sends me those handy coasters every month.
