Thanks for the answer to my question, John. I certainly wasn't around in 1995 ... as far as being on-line.... and I'm sure that there were tens of thousands or more, just like me in 1995. It's only been the past several years that Ebay has really come into it's own with the blossoming of the "Information Age". I still believe that Ebay has it's flaws with respect to the automatic deadlines imposed by a ticking clock rather than hearing Jim Kruse's "going once, going twice, SOLD!" Many a last minute bidder got multiple reprieves by being there in person.... and the consignor received a few more bucks in his/her pocket .... and the club got a couple of extra bucks in the way of a commission. Seems like a win-win situation for everybody. But then, you will probably disagree. I'll look forward to reading your rebuttal.
