I'm sure that my spelling in German is a bad as others in their English. Anyway, thanks for the reply and after being stationed there I was well aware that "spiel" means play.
Since I spent $6 for this piece, I was just looking for a little confirmation that I did OK. The piece was labled "bakelite" and was marked for $15. I told the seller that it was not bakelite and I offered the $6. She wanted to counter-offer but accepted the $6. I think that the 90 plus degree temperature at the out-door antique fair had a little to do with her choice.
Although this now goes into my collection, and it's value will not change that status, does anyone have a estimate?
