The jetons could be used to buy in at other table games. I did so several times on blackjack tables, usually had to have the dealer have a pit boss tell them that they could accept them, most BJ dealers didn't know the jetons were valid casino currency. Also, unless someone used regular house chips to buy into the game at the French wheel, there were no house chips on the table to color out with (at least not in the beginning.) I had to take the four $1000 jetons I was lucky enough to win one Saturday night last June to the cage and cash them in there.
