Tell me something I don't know! The dealers knew I'm a collector, urged me to talk to the people who could have facilitated such a transaction. Like I said, I didn't have the money so I didn't (couldn't) pursue the matter.

Since the jetons were arranged around the wheel standing on edge, fanned out on both sides of the table so both croupier's had access to all of the different varieties, rather than stacked like they are on an American wheel, I'd guess there were more jetons on the French wheel than there are on a standard American wheel. There were only about a dozen of each denomination of the plaques, also placed on edge in two rows that divided the two croupier's banks.
