I said:
I am sad because a casino has appearantly, once again, made a private arrangement with an individual or group to the exclusion of chip collectors in general.
The sales policy for everyone else is "one per customer". That means that I cannot pick up 10 chips for my Northwest buddies who can't attend. Nor can any other chapter or the normal suppliers of chips like Chuck & George. Why should AC have a special privelege? Because somebody went out & "hustled up" a special deal?
I am sad because one chapter has chosen to lock up a certain quantity of chips (before they even are released)and think it is OK.
I never said they were trying to control them all. In fact it is only around 100 out of 750. But, if every Chapter had the same opportunity, that wouldn't leave many for everybody else would it? I don't see much difference, ethically, between Rene grabbing a bunch of chips for financial gain & Dick grabbing a bunch of chips for political (he is an officer in AC Chapter) purposes. If I remember earlier discussions, some of those AC folks can't attend the convention because they don't belong to CC>CC. Is that still the case?
