I recently acquired this chip off of eBay. The eBay PIC is as shown here:

Please note the strange ring at the center of the inlay. Once I received the chip and removed it from the holder, I found that the ring is actually a piece of cellephane that is lightly adhered to the inlay. The edges of the cellephane are dirty and lifting and it is easily removed. If removed fully there is a slight dirt ring, which seems like it could be cleaned off. The other side of the chip is without any evidence of the cellephane.

Any ideas as to what gives, and do you think I should just remove it?
