>>>>"This is a $100 cheque from Bill Fong's New China Club located at 260 North Lake Street in Reno from 1952 to 1973. The New China Club was the most famous of the "minority" clubs of the 50's and 60's in Reno. These clubs catered primarily to Asians and African Americans and most closed down during or shortly after the civil rights movement that forced businesses to treat minorities fairly. This chip IS NOT LISTED in any of the Chip Rack editions or any other book or guide on Nevada casino cheques and chips. I have sent out feelers on this cheque for about a month and believe it is a one of a kind that NO ONE has. This cheque surfaced in a Reno estate with a collection of coins and 7 other Reno area cheques of the same vintage. I can answer the most frequently asked question here.... There is only ONE. Not a box, not 20, not even two. THERE IS ONE! I have been apprised by a prominent casino dealer that if this cheque is available at the Las Vegas show the last week of May, it could realize $5000. I will not be able to make the LV show and with to sell it now. This is past rare, it could be a centerpiece to a whole collection. If the reserve is realized I will pay for the cheque to be shipped registered and insured mail. Money orders or cashier's cheques only on this transaction. No Paypal and no personal cheques. GOOD LUCK. The winning bidder will not be dissapointed. Ask all questions prior to close of auction. This is a final sale not an "On Approval" sale.

On Feb-17-01 at 11:29:17 PST, seller added the following information:
In response to several inquiries and comments on the chipboard website, I add the following: I obviously cannot guarantee the chip was ever used, but it is not uncirculated. It has a small edge nick on one side and shows some slight wear overall. It did not come from a TR King source. It came in loose with 7 other chips to a Sparks, NV coin and bullion shop with an elderly person's estate of silver and gold items. The shop owner was told the chips were found in a dresser drawer. All the chips were the same vintage. They were from The Primadonna, The Horseshoe club, The Holiday, The Riverside, The Overland, The Mapes and The Carson Nugget. Everything else about the estate was legitimate and there is no reason to doubt their claim regarding these chips. I put it in the screw down holder to protect it. I found the holder for a "4 Ducat" gold coin is the perfect fit for chips. The claim that the Nevada Gaming Control Board has authenticated or researched it is absolutely false and only rumor spread on the chipboard. I have not made this claim and it has not happened. Because of the potential rarity of this chip I know everyone in the hobby is speculating on its history. Please feel free to email me with questions. If ANYONE has ever seen one or has one in their collection let me know."<<<<
