Some take advantage of this policy to promote their ebay auctions. Others find this helpful and like looking at the posts (and the auctions). Still others don't like it and complain.

I have previously posted my opinion on this, agreeing pretty much with what Jim Kruse said. Anyone who doesn't want to look at ebay hype can simply skip those messages. Especially now that they can be so easily identified.
