The "Official" guide turned a number of people off just with the way the authors titled it. Also, it promotes a complicated grading system. Finally, (my personal pet peeve that can be tied into the first two) they insist on giving three different prices on some chips where there are known limited quantities of chips, the condition of all of them being the same.

As for finding out info on UFC's, Ed Hertel has a good guide written on illegal chips, older issues of the club magazine have Michael Knapp's articles on UFC's, both new finds and new attributions (at least when the articles were written, and lastly, asking here will get some answers as the older manufacturers' records are becoming available.
