Barry,

I greatly regret that I made that post, and I have already admitted to you that I should have raised these issues privately. However, in so far as you are currently demanding a public point by point
response to your response I will oblige you.

In as much as this post will continue the public spectacle which I regret I started, I am only doing so because you have requested it. I hope that we
can take this dispute to email if you feel it is necessary to continue it.

1. you stated that I have a very amount of high end chips
WRONG...I maintain a collection of about 75-100 high-end chips. This can be verified by numerous collectors who have seen my collection. Plus I have
generally carried color copies of my collection to most chip shows to show to other collectors. Generally, when I buy a new chip, I will review my collection and consider selling any chip that I am no longer in love with...Why, because that is how I collect, I have no desire to have a collection of 3000 chips. This is my decision on how to collect.

**I would imagine that many collectors would consider 75-100 high end chips to be significant collection. Certainly a collection of that type that you describe, would be greatly benefited by price inflation. The one you take out would more than pay for the incoming one, if it was graded. The vast majority of collectors have no high end chips or maybe a couple. There is of course a core group of collectors who collect high end chips. The purpose of my making this point about you was to point out that you are among that group. So if you feel that I have mischaracterized your collection I apologize.

2. He once had about 100 pages on a web site
WRONG...I have never had a web site and would not even know how to do one. I Am not that computer savvy...notice that my postings don't include scans of chips because I still don't know how to add a scan to the BB.

**I stand corrected, you and your collection were involved in the website. It was not only your collection and you were not the owner of the site. That I am incorrect on this point bears no weight on the point I was making. It is a slight misstatement of which is insignificant. And certainly it was not meant to be hurtful or malicious and I doubt this statement alone caused you any distress. You did deliver chips purchased from the web site, I was speaking of, per more than 1 person.

I STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT GENE IS REFERRING TO WHEN HE MENTIONS A
WEB SITE...I HAVE NEVER SOLD ANY CHIPS THROUGH A WEB SITE.

3. He has a lot to gain from investors being brought into our hobby.
YES...but my gain will be significantly smaller that all most any other high-end collector...I don't have a large number of chips.

**As discussed earlier, your collection even as you described it is a significant collection. And, how many chips are still left over from "the" web site? Why does a collector only, have a use for a table at chip shows?

BECAUSE LIKE ANY OTHER COLLECTORS LIKE ALAN MYERS,
STEVE GOODRICH, DAVID SARLES, BRUCE LANDAU, I TAKE A TABLE TO SELL OFF CHIPS THAT I GOT WHEN I BOUGHT A SMALL COLLECTION, PICKED-UP AT A FLEA MARKET, GOT IN A TRADE OR JUST GOT TIRED OF. ADDITIONALLY, BUYING A TABLE ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE PERSON AND/OR ORGANIZATION RUNNING THE SHOW.

4. Barry mislead the entire membership when he posted on the club BB,concerning Ric.

WRONG...the question that was posed on the club BB was whether Ric was a Club member....My response was that he was a friend of mine and was a
member of The club. I don't feel that it is my responsibility to add a description to a person. Ric is a friend of mine, Ric favors grading....therefore Barry favors grading. Sorry the argument does not hold water. Henry Garrett is a friend of mine...I guess that makes me doubly dangerous.

**I was out of line here. I think that your close relationship with Ric is relevant, however I should not have said that you mislead the membership in regard to him. On the other hand, my request on the BB was directed to Ric and not you. If you were going to post, then you should have posted what you knew. Your post stopped me from questioning him further. I believe this was the intent of your post and it worked. I was very upset that an officer would do this.

5. Barry was the driving force behind the appointment of our current VP.
WRONG...before his selection as VP, I had never met Ken. It was your good Friend Archie Black who recommended Ken. We, the Board, had an candidate who we Were considering selecting but the over-whelming support from Archie Black and Howdy Herz caused us to change our direction...no one on the board had any personal knowledge of Ken.

6. Barry says he is anti-slab but his vote on a temporary ban does not reflect that.

WRONG...My support against a ban is to provide the ENTIRE membership with the opportunity to understand this issue. As an elected officer, I service the 2500+ members....I feel that they deserve the opportunity to learn about grading. Additionally, I believe that a dealer and/or collector has the right to determine what they buy or sell.

**I know that there are many anti-slabbers who do not wish to have a ban in place. Because I believe that you are promoting slabbing I may have over generalized here. I apologize for that. This was mainly due to you interfering in the Ric thread.

7. Barry was the financial backer of the "Official " chip book.
WRONG...My part was to introduce James/Steve to a print broker. Being that James/Steve would not have the credit with the broker, the broker would only handle the book if it went through my company. My deal with James/Steve was that they had to provide me with the finances at the time the book would go to press. I would never put my company in potential financial jeopardy. They agreed and I held their funds when the book went to press...It is a good thing for James/Steve that they did not pay the print broker immediately because then when the problem with the pages falling out occurred, I held the money and was able to negotiate with the print broker on James/Steve's behalf. For all
my time and effort I received a free book....I do treasure that book. I have had no other financial involvement in the book, plus I had nothing to do
with the contents.

**While I may not have all the details of your arrangement. In substance, you have just stated that you acted as a guarantor for the book. If James/Steve could provide you with the finances at the time the book went to press, what was your role? They didn't need you if they had all the finances. You see you stated that James/Steve would not have credit with the broker, so you put your credit up. But if they had all the finances they didn't need credit.

But this is quibbling over nothing, I said you backed the book, and you admitted it. You just dispute the use of the word "financial", well that is irrelevant.

GENE, YOU STILL DON’T GET IT...I AGREED TO ACT AS GUARANTOR PROVIDING I RECEIVED THE FUNDS IN ADVANCE. I HELD THE MONEY FOR THEM. I NEVER UNDERTOOK ANY FINANCIAL RISK. WHY DIDN’T JAMES/STEVE JUST PAY THE PUBLISHER.... BECAUSE ONCE YOU PAY, YOU HAVE NO RECOURE IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS

8. Barry has withdrawn financial backing for future issues of the chip book
WRONG...never provided financial backing...it was James/Steve's decision toPublish the book in a different manner.

**I should not have raised this issue as it is irrelevant to my point. But, you would have heard it sooner or later as many club members are hearing it from some source. I heard it the day I posted, from two different collectors.

9. Has anyone ever seen one action that backs up Barry's stated anti-slab opinion?
Has anyone ever seen one action that backs up YOUR stated opinion that I am pro-slabbing?

**If I am wrong about that I apologize. But my opinion is based on those things I have seen.
