Wane & Mike could not have made the case for a convention site any clearer. Each year this debate comes up as to where to hold the next convention. The preliminary leg-work has been done by these two highly qualified individuals. The facts have been laid out and there are only a handful of properties in Las Vegas that would be suitable as a convention site for the club's purposes. This is NOT an issue for the club membership to vote on. It is a very important decision for the elected Board ... with STRONG input from the Convention Chairman (whomever that may be) to make. In fact, it may be prudent for the club to make some long term agreement with a Las Vegas property for multiple year dates, three or more years in advance. I don't think that strip vs. non-strip is much of an issue. Those who attended past conventions at Orleans were well pleased with the facility. Those who attended the recent commercial show at Palace Station didn't complain about it's off strip location. A show is a show is a show. Wherever it is held; chippers for the most part will be there.
