George - I hope that there was no misunderstanding about something I attributed to you. I simply wanted to remove this discussion from the posts involving the new convention chairman and several others had commented on moving the convention. In fact I understand that we have a committment to the Orleans in 2002 (that we can cancel with no penalty). I do think that room costs are an issue with a lot of convention goers. I believe that a lot of people don't want to pay $125 per night in a fancy hotel like Paris and then have to pay $40 per person for dinner, etc. But I do think that most people want to stay on the strip. And while I have nothing against the Orleans, it does have room for only 92 tables vs the 108 that are filled this year. Which 16 dealers will be turned away next year(if we go to the Orleans) and what about the $4750 in missed table revenues? Also remember that we had twice the walk in traffic at the Trop last year than we had at the Orleans. These are all things that the new chairman needs to consider and he (she) needs to keep in mind what is best for the club.
