You can cure at least two of your peeves by ditching AOL. The service is for children and beginning internet people. The kids have clogged up that system since it started. Find another ISP.
.....or at least turn off instant messaging if you can on AOL. It's too much like your phone ringing just when you shoved a good sized chunk of ribeye into your mouth.
