Any opportunity to provide a FREE forum for the slabbing companies to advertise their product is a mistake. This is my opinion. I don't have to wait and see what Michael has planned. The slabbers sell a service - nothing more, nothing less. Whatever type of forum is used - debate, speaker, etc. is nothing more than an opportunity for the slabbers to promote their product.

I don't believe we (the club) should give them this opportunity. What will be gained? A debate where nothing is accomplished. How will "new" people form an opinion in an hour or two? Most of them will already know about slabbing from other hobbies.

I say NO seminar, debate or what have you. Why draw anymore attention to them. Let them debate at their bourse table. If the slabbers want a debate let them organize it at one of their coin shows not our convention. If they hold a debate at one of their coin shows I will be more than happy to represent our club. Guess what? It will never happen. Why would they want to expose THEIR customers to us? Why should our club provide them with FREE space?

Of course you are my friend, This issue can't or will not change that fact. Best, Jim
