>>>You are ALL in it to make a profit.
If by All you mean all collectors you are mistaken. I have never sold a chip for more than it cost me. If I wanted to make money I would collect stocks and bonds. I do this for fun.
That being said I have no objection to people making a profit in this hobby. But despite what you claim, I have heard no one complain that the Slabbers were just entereing the chip world to make a profit. The objection is that they are damaging our hobby for their profit. There is a difference.
>>>Maybe the collectors/dealers whom object are just afraid what they claim is mint, pristine, or whatever grade they claim, may get caught.
may get caught? I suppose then you belive that ICG has any idea wht mint, pristine or whatever grade they claim is?
>>>Beginners and novice collectors need something or someone they can relie on.
Well I suppose you belive they can rely on ICG. What does ICG know about casino chips? Why do you believe you can rely on them? They claim to have experts in the field of casino chips as their graders. How can we tell, they won't tell us who the graders are. They won't tell us what standards they use. So If ICG tells you that they have graded a chip as CS67 can you tell me what that means? ICG won't say.
Relying on on ICG would be like playing craps with dice that have no spots. Don't worry the house remembers where the spots were. . . they will tell you what you rolled.
>>>to many individuals just don't care who they take advantage of.
Hey if you had a problem with a dealer, give us the details . . . we will try to make this a better and safer hobby.
