Don...You are right. In the early 90's TRK sold chips that they had in inventory either as samples or extras from closed casinos. Most could be purchased for $4-$8 till the word got out & somebody there realized these were worth $ on the collector market. The few I purchased were actual rack chips...some of which are off center & probably didn't meet quality control standards. I'll bet this New China Club $100 if purchased from them is a sample they kept from the actual run...time may tell or not. The questions are what makes the hobby so interesting.I know one thing for sure though you'll never get an answer from Gaming.
