For those of you who missed our post on Thursday, we have a few chips left. Harrah's Shreveport is having a Grand Opening of their new hotel on March 1st. We were in touch with the Cage Manager at Harrah's this past weekend and inquired if any new chips would be issued to commemorate the GO. He informed us that there will be a new rack of chips issued and the old ones will be destroyed (we will let you know more about the new rack when information is able). He did let us know that he still had a few $1 Rose chips and $5 1994 Rose Grand Opening chips that had been taken off the tables in 1997. When he came up from the vault he brought some $1 Rose chips that are in very good condition and found a few $5 1994 Rose that were in MINT condition and had never been out of the vault (we quickly purhased them). These chips, once, thought to be obsolete, are listed in Greg's "Illistrated Guide to Casino Chips of American River Boats" as $1 valued at $5-$8 and $5 valued at $10-$15. We are selling these on the BB at $2 for the $1 chip and $8 for the $5 chip. If anyone is interested in obtaining these chips, please email us.
