Let's say I pick up a $1 Tropicana chip while I'm in Vegas. I send it off to get "Graded",I have to the postage ($3.20 priority),Pay $10+ to get it "Graded", pay return postage ($3.20). I now have $17.40 "invested" in this $1 chip. (I also hope it doesn't get lost in the mail because I didn't insure it either way)
Now I want to try to sell on Ebay or another auction. I've got Ebay fees now. I hope to make a profit of some kind. Let's say I'm happy with $5.00 profit for this fine "Graded" chip. The chip is now at $22.50 . The buyer has to pay the postage to get the chip from Charlotte to His/Her place. They are now paying $25.70 for this common chip. Normally a current $1 Tropicana chip may sell for a buck or two plus postage ($5.20). Why is mine now worth $20.50 MORE?????????
