Jim, I have always considered you a friend. But your post smacked of the very thing that frightens me about the level of rhetoric amongst ourselves, and my TONE was intended to convey the frustration I feel at seeing this issue putting us at each others' throats and judging and condemning one another. It's not you, it's the attitude that is created when people go on witch hunts.
Look carefully at the words you posted. "I don't think any collector signed that list for any selfish or self-serving reason. Can the other side say the same thing?"
It appears to me that you are saying that anyone not on the list is on "the other side." I don't appreciate that classification. I am as opposed to slabbing as anyone here. But I am also opposed to the negative way the list is used.
You said, "in most cases people have motivations for their actions. Think about it." Just what motivation do you presume I have for not being on the list? That sounds to me like an accusation that anyone not on the list must have an ulterior motive.
I won't be on the list because I don't like the way it's being used. I don't like the presumption that those on the list are obviously slabbers or slabber sympathizers.
This is what has become of our hobby. Chippers at each others throats. Some people don't know who the enemy is. It isn't fun any more.
