I know this is waaaaaaay overdue, but I feel like I need to be on the list. I've never debated my stance on the issue, I see NOTHING positive about slabbing, but I've never been a "List person". I have silently agreed with the pledge since day one, but IMHO it is very important that we unite and send a unified message to any dealer who might be on the fence in this issue.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone can collect/sell anything that they want, but there will be financial consequences if they promote slabbing by dealing in graded chips. As the number of people taking the pledge, joining the list, etc. grows, it will be evidence to those people that the loss of customers will outweigh the possible potential profits.
I will NOT buy any slabbed chip.
I will NOT have any slabbed chip in my collection.
I will NOT buy ANY chip from any dealer who sells slabbed chips.
I will NOT buy ANY chip from any dealer who grades chips for a slabbing service.
I will NOT do business of any kind with any dealer who participates in any way in the slabbing of chips.
I've been listing some overflow from my collection on ebay as I've had time, and intend to work in some type of anti-slabbing message on the auctions that I list from this point forward (should've thought of that last week), and would recommend that others do the same.
