I notice the dealers at the Trop have joined the Transport Workers Union, which has been attempting to organize the 30,000 Las Vegas dealers. Stratosphere dealers have also joined TWU. Dealers at the Monte Carlo, Las Vegas Hilton and MGM Grand rejected the union. Elections are scheduled today at the Riviera, tomorow at Bally's and Feb. 17 at New York-New York, Feb. 23 at the New Frontier, March 3 at Excalibur and March 10 at Treasure Island. Be interesting to see if there's any difference from the player's perspective playing at a union vs. non-union blackjack table. I notice they haven't attempted to unionize the high-end places such as Bellagio, Venetian, etc. I' m guessing that's because the dealers there are better paid because of high tips?
