I agree. Even though I'm against slabbing, I think it should be offered the chance to die a natural death. (you know, give it a fair trial and then hang em)
Let the marketplace determine the issue. It may be an unpopular viewpoint, but I think we can get past this, and the hobby itself has enough strength, that we can all get past this issue without protests, bans, or boycotts. Just look at the posts on this BB and ask yourself this question. "If no one buys these, what reason will there be to sell them?" Look at the public opinion against slabbing and grading.
As for the 90% question, I would say it's the opposite. Over 90% of the people we see here and others I have talked to, say they have no desire or use for this service.
I just had a conversation with a bank note collector. He added this. There are dealers in that hobby that offer a 30 day return for full refund policy. (for instance if you think it's not as high quality as advertised) The one exception is if you buy a slabbed/gradded bill, there is no guarentee.
