That makes me think slabbing won't make it, so I better get a chip done fast... they will be rare if no one buys them. (evil laugh)
Maybe IGC did their market research asking people who don't collect chips? That's about the only way I can see the claim of 90%. Or possibly they asked ten people, all dealers, none who are actually collectors. (you know the vulture faction) and 9 out of 10 said, "sure we love more profit..."
I can see by the messages that some folks look at this like the "domino effect" and want to stomp it out, before taking a chance that we are a somewhat rational group of people, and enjoy the joy of collecting and holding the chips in our hands. (the somewhat rational is only because of the obvious, who in the world would collect casino chips?)
But the point still remains. If we don't buy in, the effort to market these, will go away.
