I'm not so sure Bob. Everything I've heard and read points to the fact that members of CC & GTCC who curently belong to chapters would still hold membership in the International organization if the local clubs ceased to exist as chapters. I've read posts by Chapter President's who have said they would take their clubs private in the event the International forced mandatory membership on the Chapter members. It's a no-win situation Bob. We're damned if we do, damned if we don't. There is nothing to prevent local clubs from still promoting individual membership in CC & GTCC. I read on one influential chipper's website that he went out of his way to say that National Membership is no longer required to join the Silver Strikers Chapter instead of simply offering a membership application in Silver Strikers and then let individuals make up their minds later. Is this the way one goes about building and encouraging CC & GTCC membership? I don't think so. Do you?
