Jack; I don't know how you conducted your research poll or who participated in a survey .... but it is the minority who are opposed to the anti-slab sentiment expressed here. Most chippers, by a HUGE majority, are NOT in favor of slabbing.

Just check the number of views to any post on this bulletin board on ANY subject. Very seldom will that number exceed 100, with rare exceptions. To have close to 250 chippers willing to put their name on "The List" demonstrates to me that we are by far not in the minority.... at least not on this bulletin board. The vast majority of rank and file members who are not on-line haven't even been exposed to this subject yet.... and there are those who are suggesting to keep quiet, don't talk about it... don't publish anything in the magazine, ... it's going to destroy us.

It's also interesting to me, that those who oppose the right of free speech and who call others "childish" and "not professional"... (whatever that means .... as I don't know of any professional anti-slabbers) and who compare us to "brown shirts", decry the demise of our hobby. Our own club Vice-President now wants to expel anti-slabbers and has threatened to take action against them. Where are the posts against ICG from those who want to preserve our hobby? How come not more than one response in over 100 views to my "True Story" post earlier in this thread? Is it because the truth hurts? That post made a very strong case for a very vivid, true-life example of where this hobby is headed if slabbing takes hold; not fiction. Wake up folks, before it's too late. I'm proud to be one who is trying to do something about it rather than sit on the sidelines and let ICG make all their unchallenged moves. I agree with you Jack, don't buy the product and the problem will go away. How do we convince people not to buy the product if we don't bring attention to the problem?

Competition? ICG is our competition? Is that really what some of you think? Is ICG going to build a non-profit hobby organization like CC & GTCC on our behalf ... or maybe sponsor a another puppet message board like wwwcoinclub.com?

What is ICG going to do to benefit our hobby? Standardize grading? I don't think so. Are they attempting to set themselves up as the final authority? I certainly hope not.

This debate is healthy. Keep the communications channels open and the heat down and maybe we can all learn something. To Mr. Hallenbeck, please tread cautiously and don't believe all that you read in some emails....
