We need to begin approaching these two subjects on a reasonable basis. Too much rhetoric; too many threats (re, my friend Rene's threat to quit the club if slabbing is banned). Friendships are being threatened. My suggestion on memberships:
1) I think the present amendment needs work but I did vote yes. My thought is that local clubs should have freedom to invite guests who can attend their local meetings without being members of CC>CC; the clubs should be able to charge any fee they desire to their guests for the privilege of attending. Just don't give them local memberships. I can certainly see where some limited collectors (as described by Bob in his several Colorado posts) have no interest in national.
2) On slabbing, lets reduce the angry posts. I don't want slabbing but while still ambivalent as to whether slabbed chips should be banned at the Convention am not ambivalent on my feelings on the war that is presently going on. We have to stop attacking each other personally; attack slabbing not people.
