Allan,
I have read your posts. I guess this is as good a place to answer as any.
What really blows my mind is that you and others against the amendment have no sympathy or understanding for the other side. You don't give an inch. My side at least trys to arrange exceptions and accomodations, but not you. And all of this is in the face of the fact that throughout this country I don't know of any chapters where the members do not belong to the nationals. The nationals set up chapters, or permits them, to be local places for its like-minded members to work for the national ends and fun, the group ends. That is the understanding of everyone envolved when the chapters were set up. That is what must have been done with us, but I guess it should have been done better and watched closer. In any event, for most of the CCGTCC's history (and except for part of the last year, for the entire period chapters existed, save a small possible exception here or there) chapter members were required to be national members.
Let me also add that Colorado is a small place. In any event it is just one area of a big country. You should understand that even if you were treated unfairly (and your group formed way back when, even prior to the CCGTCC), it is unfair for the national CCGTCC to change its entire structure just to satisfy one relatively small, odd case, whatever the merits there are. I don't know what happened, but I bet that if you kept quiet about your small 10% of non-national-members and/or took any effort to smooth the matter over with the national officers, this brouhaha never would have occurred! I wonder if your chapter was originally some sort of debating club that enjoys all this.
