I didn't join the Colorado chapter until the 1998 CCGTCC convention. The CCGTCC could have asked the CCC if they wanted to become an affiliate. I personally think that the CCGTCC benefits more from the local chapters than the other way around.

I think its rather presumptuous of you to state the reason that I'd ask any question. I have a lot of opinions on many things that I've held for years, and my opinion on this issue would have the same as it is now had I never known of this club.
You and others have listed different organizations that require dual membership as a requirement of belonging to a local organization. First, that's not how every organization is structured (the ANA requirements of the CCGTCC is a prime example.) Second, just because some other organizations do it that way doesn't mean we have to.
