I, for a long time (a year and a half) sat on the side lines reading, contributing, and getting raked and praised over the coals many times before I joined the club.

One thing that I always saw happen as the arguements went on raging was that when the dust settles these guys are still friendly and/or friends with one another. There are a lot of very strong personalities on that board with strong convictions to what they believe in; this is what I like about the hobby and the board and the people I deal with constantly, and this is why I joined last month. Without controversy there is very little change.

So don't let what you see keep you from becoming active in a hobby that is both fun and exciting. We live in an age where people are not afraid to let off a little steam...for the most part it is harmless and at times it does produce positive results. I just hate to see some subjects get beaten into the ground with not positive results.
