to the current amendment proposal.
In that....
>>>>>As for your suggestion about a separate ballot for everyone in the club to nominate a Silver Strike.... I'll let the new club officers decide that one... but if someone asked for my personal opinion my response would be that it would not be a good idea. Here is my reasoning. To extend your idea further to the next logical conclusion, then the club should invite all club members to select the Las Vegas Chip Of The year.... the Reno Chip Of The Year ... or the Atlantic City Chip Of the Year, or the Riverboat Chip Of The Year. I think these things would be better left for the individual chapters to deal with, like the Silver Strikers have .... that's if there are any chapters left after the current controversy is resolved.<g> >>>>>
with the current regulations allowing chapter members to be non CC>CC members, it could happen even in this current Silver Striker's Chapter Silver Strike of the year that non members of CC>CC who are Chapter members can nominate and vote in a Silver Strike Token of the Year. That would create the FIRST ever Silver Strike that was "ENDORSED" by the CC>CC which wasn't even nominated or voted in by actual CC>CC members.
I KNOW, I KNOW, this isn't a BIG deal, but it just goes to show what can happen if Chapter members need not be members of CC>CC. The non members can have an effect on CC>CC activities.
As for my thoughts, I'll state what I said on the Club BB...
"Let's keep it simple as it has been in the past. Just let any member nominate any chip or token in the CC>CC COTY/TOTY contest."
But getting back to Chapter's having their own chips and tokens of the year contest... FINE.... But those honors should note that they are INDIVIDUAL Chapter HONORS not CC>CC Honors. The CC>CC Chip/Token of the year awards should be left to CC>CC members ONLY, not Chapters where non-members are included... ANOTHER BENEFIT OF BEING A CLUB MEMBER, BEING ABLE TO NOMINATE AND VOTE FOR THE "CC>CC CHIP/TOKEN OF THE YEAR".
JUST MY OPIONION here. <G>
