Yes, there may be some debates, but most of the slabbing issue is actually people who want to keep things friendly and accessable to everyone, not just the elite and people in power. We have seen enough evidence of how slabbing just doesn't work, in the world of coins, cards and now bank notes. Grading isn't an issue, since most collectors just want a chip. Condition isn't an issue.
Now someone, an outsider, interested in their own profits, not chip collecting comes along and wants to change the rules. I can see why some folks are even more assertive and against the inception of grading and slabbing. Nothing good can come from it.
My personal take on the issue remains the same. Every individual vote with your pocketbook. Don't buy them, don't trade them, and ignore slabbed chips. Others have a more proactive approach. ;-)
