Playing at Harrahs' in AC this year I noticed they changed from the grey ring $1 chip to a black ring chip. So when I received my copy of "The Official US Casino Chip Price Guide 2nd Edition", I thought they had the chips reversed in the book with the black ring as the first issue and the grey ring as the second issue. Are the current black ring chips the same as previously used as the issue one house chips? They sure look like it to me. I guess there is nothing to stop a casino from re-releasing a chip previously removed from the tables? This makes me nervous to collect and pay a price for an obsolete chip that can, at a casino's descreation, bring them back into play!
